We've all been affected by Covid in one way or another, but for those who work in events, like myself, we have seen 12 months of work completely wiped away, with little support from the government. While my main 'bread & butter' is drawing live at weddings, I do offer loads of other services which you may not know about. Lots of people are choosing to support local and small independent businesses this year to help them stay afloat, so I thought I'd put together a post with 10 ways that you could help a little business out this winter – some of which won't cost you a penny! So please do have a read, and I would be very grateful for you to wing some fun caricature work my way!
- Order a caricature from a photo for a Christmas gift
What do you get the person who has everything? A Caricature of themselves! I never normally advertise this service as I am always fully booked through word of mouth, but this year I have more time to offer, so please do get your caricature from photo orders in! I have actually been working on Christmas orders since August and I have a few slots becoming available, so simply fill out this form and I will send you over a quote. With prices starting at just £10, and black and white or colour options available, I'll be able to create exactly what you have in mind. I only need 2 photos to work from, and I can post all over the UK. Framing and mounting is also available, if required.
2. Commission a birthday gift!
Much like the above, a bespoke caricature makes the best birthday gift! Especially for those with winter birthdays where you have to think of a birthday AND a Christmas gift for them at the same time. Let me take the stress away by creating something truly personal that they will cherish. I can draw couples together, parents or grandparents with their kids, and I can even add in the family pets! Don't have a photo of all the family together? Not a problem – I focus on one face at a time anyway, so I can combine multiple photos together and even add in relatives who live abroad, or those who have sadly passed away and are no longer with us. I can do sizes from A5-A1 and also custom sizes too. I recently completed a 50x60cm family portrait to go in a custom frame. Just get in touch, or fill out the quote form for a cost.
3. Get your staff drawn for your company website
Give your customers something to smile about at this miserable time, with a caricature of your team. This makes a great alternative to stuffy headshots, and adds some personality to your brand. I have created this 'Meet the Team' artwork for Pure Dental, and have also been commissioned by the one and only Amazon to draw a group portrait of their team.
4. Book me to draw your Company Christmas card
Would you believe it, I am already sending a company Christmas card artwork to print this week, so it's never to early to get this sorted! Let me draw a crazy or funny scene of you and your team in your office, in a festive location, or doing what you do best. I was recently approached by a business who chatted to me over the phone about all the characters in the office, so I took notes and translated the personalities into a hilarious caricature scene complete with references to their main clients. You can choose to ignore or embrace the elephant in the room that is Corona, and add in things like masks and hand sanitiser to try and bring some humour around what has been a tough year for most, and create a card that your customers will never want to throw away. With your logo and website on the back, your details will always be close to hand. 5. Leave a review

6. Hire me for your hotel, holiday park or attraction
I have drawn at a range of hotels and holiday parks for seasonal entertainment over the years, including Bedruthan, The Esplanade Hotel, The Headland Hotel, John Fowler Holiday Parks and even visitor attractions such as the Cornish Birds of Prey Centre. With reduced rates for multiple bookings, I can bring some smiles and laughter to your guests and can even print your logo on the paper so they take their caricature away as a memento of their time at your venue. Many guests go on to frame the artwork, so your logo will have a permanent feature in their home. 7. Arrange virtual caricatures for your group or team on Zoom
A new service for 2020 – I can draw your staff live over a video conferencing service, such as Zoom. I can also facilitate a team building exercise where staff draw one another, or a model – think of it as a mini-masterclass! I'm also very happy to judge the winner!
8. Caricature your profile pic or business logo
In today's social age, a profile picture has never been more important. Why not get me to draw you for a really unique display photo that makes you stand out, whether you are a business or just an individual – think of it as your Christmas present to yourself! It also makes a great addition to your branding for companies - Here are a couple of colour examples drawn of HMS Shipshape, and Home Hunters Cornwall.
9. Share my social media posts, or tag a friend
This one is super quick, super free and super easy! Simply share one of my posts to your personal Facebook, or to your Insta story, or tag a friend who is getting married in the post-Covid light that we are waiting for at the end of this horrible tunnel!
10. Book me for your 2021 Party/Conference/Baby Shower/Christening
I'm already getting bookings for Annual Dinners and Corporate events for 2021 and beyond, so with all the 2020 event postponements making next year already chocka – please do get in there early to book live caricatures to make your event extra special.

The wedding industry has been dealt another cruel blow in the form of the latest restrictions, meaning we can no longer work at weddings with more than 15 guests, which are banned for the foreseeable. My heart goes out to all couples affected. Many of my lovely customers are now postponing for the 2nd or 3rd time.
I’ve been so lucky to draw caricatures for 3x amazing, intimate weddings this summer, with 30 or less guests. Childhood dream = made ✅
Ever since I was 5 I wanted to be a book illustrator and after almost 2 years in the making, I can finally share this with you!
Back when Kasper was a baby I was approached by Snufflegrin Books to provide Caricatures for an exciting new memoir style book being written by Addison Whitaker, titled ‘Forget Vivaldi’.
I’ll let you read the story behind the book in these pics, as Peter tells it much better than I could!
We worked together to create these 9 Caricatures over the space of a year, and I finished them at the end of 2018, just in time before I popped out another baby! 😂
And now the book is complete, and the caricatures and the stories behind them are on show at an exhibition at Old Bakery Studios in Truro, in room S4. So please do pop along to have a look!
It was so much fun and such a challenge to create images from the author’s memory that ultimately don’t exist in any other form. Taking hairstyles from one reference photo, age from another, pose and facial expression from others, and outfits from descriptions or stills of clips found on YouTube, I was able to create these caricature illustrations which hopefully go some way to capture the brilliant anecdotes that adorn the pages.

What makes these awards so special, is that only real brides and grooms can vote, so unlike some awards which can be in danger of becoming a popularity contest, the Simply Awards are very authentic as they rely on the testimonials and experiences of genuine couples who have booked each supplier for their own wedding.
I was thrilled to have won and the award now takes pride of place on my mantelpiece (away from inquisitive reaching baby hands)!
I just want to say a tremendous thank you to each and every one of my couples who took the time to send me such incredible testimonials just like the one below. I cannot thank you enough. It warms my heart to read what an impact I made for your most special day, and I truly am living the dream, getting to call this my full-time job.

I started the night at 6pm in my caricature drawing area, where guests arrived for their welcome drinks and swiftly started to queue for their caricature portraits.
Dinner was then served, so Dan and I worked the room, entertaining guests at the tables - him with his tricks and me with my clipboard and pens.
Once the ceremony was over, I then drew for the after party, before packing up my pens at 11pm.
I drew caricatures for Cornwall and Devon's top wedding suppliers, and some even took to the photo booth with their caricature drawings!
Tina, of Orange Chill Events, said: "Cassie had a busy night at the South West Wedding Awards 2016. She delighted all our guests with her wonderful work. My only regret is I didn't get chance to sit down with her. I would highly recommend her to anyone."

Free caricature portraits will be drawn between 10am-3pm on Sunday 20th March at The St Mellion International Resort wedding fair.
The week after it's a BANK HOLIDAY people! To celebrate, my free caricature portraits will be available to all who attend the Married in Cornwall wedding fair at The Old Cattle Market in Helston on Good Friday (25th March) from 10.30am.
