Q: Do you draw pets?

A: Unfortunately Cornwall Caricatures does not offer sole portraits of pets alone, although Cassie is happy to create a caricature of you with your pet in the picture. She only offers this service in colour though, as with our furry friends it is often hard to capture an impactful portrait in black and white because the features on an animal are very different to a human face.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Live caricature drawing is charged on an hourly rate, however, this rate goes down the more hours you book. Cornwall Caricatures also has special packages for drawing either side of the meal. Please fill out this form for a personalised quote for your requirements. For caricature commissions, it varies based on factors such as the amount of people, colour/black and white, the size, and the amount of details drawn, so please fill out this form with what you are after and Cassie will send you a price.

Q: What’s your minimum and maximum booking times?

The minimum time Cassie can be booked for is 1 hour. The longest booking to date is 6 hours in one stint, however, please contact Cornwall Caricatures with your requirements if you are looking for longer or shorter to talk further.

Q: How far in advance do I need to book?

The further in advance, the better, so that Cassie can secure your date. There’s nothing wrong with a bit of forward planning and Cornwall Caricatures does get booked up in advance, especially for March-October dates for weddings and December dates for Christmas parties. That said, if you have a date coming up, and need to book Cornwall Caricatures at short notice, simply get in touch to discuss.

Q: How do I pay?

Payment can be made by cash, cheque, or bank transfer. All bookings require a 50% deposit upfront to secure the date. The remaining 50% is payable 14 days before the event or required date of delivery.

Q: What if I change my mind?

If you change your mind on your live caricature booking, more than 14 days before the event, any payments made in advance are non-refundable. If you have paid the 50% deposit only, you will not have to pay the remaining 50%. If you change your mind on a live caricature booking less than 14 days before the event and have paid in full, it is also non-refundable. The same applies to gift and corporate caricatures – once drawing has commenced, the full paid balance will not be able to be returned. However, if you do change your mind 14 days before, and drawing has not commenced, you will only lose 50% and not have to pay the final 50%.

Q: What if I don’t like my caricature?

If you don’t like your caricature when Cassie is drawing you at a live event, she will be happy to redraw you free of charge, but if there is a queue, you must join the back of the queue as others will have been waiting in line. Thankfully this has never happened! However, please bear in mind that the art of caricature drawing is pure fun and light hearted entertainment, and portraits should be taken with a pinch of salt! It’s meant to be funny, and laughing and smiling is what it’s all about. If you are commissioning Cassie to create a caricature from a photo, you will have the option to be sent an image digitally to approve once it is complete, before it is posted to you. If you feel the brief has not been followed, she will redraw and repaint, but only one re-order may be taken free of charge per booking.

Q: How far do you travel?

From Cassie’s base in Mid Cornwall, near Truro, Cornwall Caricatures covers the whole of Cornwall and Devon. She also covers caricatures in Dorset, Somerset and Bristol, and has travelled 500 miles in one day for a bride and groom, so don’t be put off if you’re over the Tamar! If you would like Cassie to travel further for your event, please get in touch and she would of course be happy to consider this!

Q: Do you do live caricatures in colour?

Cornwall Caricatures creates caricatures in black and grey tones as standard, but Cassie can create colour caricatures live. However, this is a higher priced service due to the extra pen colours and the extra time taken. Please get in touch for special requirements.
